Who Saw Her Die

007 Bond, George Lazenby (whose ON HER MAJESTY SECRET SERVICE is much referenced in NO TIME TO DIE) swaggers onto a tense creepy chiller with similar lines to the later “Don’t Look Now” sharing its dark broody atmosphere in a claustrophobic but never more beautiful Venice..

WHO SAW HER DIE

When Franco (in a career-best performance by George Lazenby) loses his daughter to this shadowy elusive murderer he sets off on an unnerving journey of retribution that will bring him to the very edge of his sanity and quite possibly his life too.

Director Aldo Lado (Night Train Murders) brings us the thrilling, stylish, atmospheric and perverted giallo, WHO SAW HER DIE. This haunting film, full of twists and turns will keep you enthralled until the very end. Boasting some of the most iconic names of genre, this film is not to be missed.

The mists that wreathe the eerie city of Venice become the hunting ground for a faceless child killer. This sinister figure is seemingly unstoppable in this taut and brilliant thriller, Who Saw Her Die?

A young red-head is murdered in Megeve by an ominous figure dressed all in black. Four years later, we meet the sculptor Franco (in a career-best performance by George Lazenby) when his daughter Roberta visits him in Venice. After leaving her to play one afternoon, the same terrifying black figure re-appears and Roberta goes missing. She is found face-down, dead in the dark and cold canals of Venice. After losing his daughter to this shadowy elusive murderer, he sets off on an unnerving journey of guilt and retribution. This journey will bring him to the very edge of his sanity and quite possibly his life too.

A truly compelling and gripping thriller, rigid with a tense and atmospheric style, this film bears an uncanny resemblance to the classic Don’t Look Now. Although, Who Saw Her Die? was actually made the year before.

The film boasts both Franco Di Giacomo’s (Il Postino) starkly evocative cinematography and a chilling score by Ennio Morricone. Who Saw Her Die? haunts the mind long after viewing it.

Shamless Films brings back to life this influential, hidden gem. A chilling giallo set against the misty backdrop of Venice. Available on DVD.
